Life throws curveballs, and one of those may be issues arising as you activate and use your mock exams. These can range from platform hiccups to unexpected internet drops, a funky browser setup, or simply forgetting to pause the exam when friends and family drop by.

Note: If you experience hiccups on the platform, please let us know so we can fix them as soon as possible!

When this happens, don't despair! You can edit the settings of your mock exam tickets (i.e. each sitting) to fix the most common issues you may face.

Here's the guide on how to edit and fix your mock

1. Navigate your way to the mock exam sitting.

You'll notice some text just below the Start/Continue/Review button that will allow you to make important edits.

2. Click on that edit label (circled in red above)

3. Edit the following settings of your mock exam to fix the issues you were facing

Settings guide:

"What is the status of this part?"

This is the state of this part of the paper (most papers will have multiple parts with a break). Here's a quick definition on the options:

  • Not Started: you haven't started this part of the paper yet

  • Paused: you've started this part of the paper and paused it to be continued later

  • Finished: you've finished this part of the paper

The next action for this paper (displayed at the bottom of this edit screen) will change depending on what you set as the 'status' for each part.

"How many minutes are left on the clock?"

The number of minutes remaining for this part of the paper.

If you set this to "0" and try to jump back into this part of the paper, you'll quickly be told that the time has run out and you should submit the paper for marking

"What question are you up to?"

The current question number that you are up to within this part of the paper.

This can be useful to change if you seem to have unexpectedly jumped around and are trying to get back to where you think you should be.

"Have you reached the last question in this part?"

Check this box if you have reached the last question in this part of the exam and want to unlock the 'Review' button that will allow you to go through the list of questions, find unanswered ones, and dig through flagged ones.

We've built our platform to emulate the real exam as closely as possible. And this ability to only go through the list of questions once you've done the last one has been developed to replicate the real exam.

4. Once done, hit 'Confirm these edits' to lock it in. You will see the mock exam sitting settings change to reflect your edits.

hint: you can make edits multiple times, so if you accidentally mess it up the first time, just jump back in and make the edits again.
